Prof. Lukas Feireiss & Christopher Bailey

Prof. Lukas Feireiss works as a curator, editor, researcher and educator beyond disciplinary boundaries in the field of art, science and contemporary cultural reflexivity. He studied Comparative Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethnology in Berlin and Rome. He’s curator and author of numerous exhibitions and publications and has been teaching at various universities worldwide. Currently he’s visiting-professor for transdisciplinary artistic education at Berlin University of the Arts. He is also board member of the International Society for Arts and Medicine. https://www.studiolukasfeireiss.com.

Christopher Bailey is the Arts and Health Lead at the World Health Organization. He co-founded the Healing Arts Initiative which aims to establish a global network of research centers to explore the scientific basis and effective practices supporting the health benefits of the arts. Bailey's educational background includes studies at Columbia and Oxford Universities, as well as the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After a career as professional actor and playwright, he joined the World Health Organisation.


© The Healing Arts is a series of discursive encounters exploring the intersections of art and medicine. Initiated and hosted by curator and educator Lukas Feireiss, the series is organized in collaboration with the International Society for Arts and Medicine and the Network Arts and Medicine at Charité Medical Center Berlin since 2023.

The events take place on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Paul-Ehrlich-Hörsaal, Virchowweg 4, Campus Charité Mitte, 10117 Berlin.
