Prof. Dr. phil. Joerg Fingerhut & Prof. Elisabeth Broermann
Prof. Dr. phil. Joerg Fingerhut is is a philosopher of mind, media, and art at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As an empirically engaged philosopher, he conducts his own experimental research and collaborates with artists and architects as well as neuroscientists, psychologists, and medical researchers. In general, he is interested in the effects of cultural artifacts – the built environment, images and films, the visual arts – on the mind and mental well-being. He founded the „Arts and Minds Lab“ at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Department of Philosophy (HU Berlin). He is also co-head of the „Research Group Neurourbanism“ at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Previously, he was a member of the “Functions of Consciousness” group at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of the Sciences and Humanities, an „Art and Neuroscience Fellow“ at Columbia University, and Deputy Professor for Philosophy of Mind at LMU Munich.

Stefanie Matthys, Dipl.-Ing. Architektin, studied architecture at RWTH Aachen and started her professional career in Paris at the office of Odile Decq. Since her first experiences with healthcare architecture at Brunet Saunier Architects, she has been enthusiastic about this topic. From 2009 to 2014, she has been a research associate at Berlin University of Technology in the Architecture for Health department led by Prof. Christine Nickl-Weller. There she initiated various research projects, conferences and workshops in the field of “Healing Architecture”, including the organisation of the biennial symposium “Health Care of the Future” in Berlin. Stefanie has held lectures in Germany and abroad and is author and publisher of several articles and publications focusing on health and research buildings such as the series “Health Care of the Future”. Since 2014, Stefanie has been working for Nickl & Partner Architekten AG. She is managing director of the non-profit organisation European Network Architecture for Health (ENAH) founded in 2017. www.enah.eu
