Prof. Dr. phil. Joerg Fingerhut & Prof. Elisabeth Broermann

Prof. Dr. phil. Joerg Fingerhut is is a philosopher of mind, media, and art at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As an empirically engaged philosopher, he conducts his own experimental research and collaborates with artists and architects as well as neuroscientists, psychologists, and medical researchers. In general, he is interested in the effects of cultural artifacts – the built environment, images and films, the visual arts – on the mind and mental well-being. He founded the „Arts and Minds Lab“ at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain, Department of Philosophy (HU Berlin). He is also co-head of the „Research Group Neurourbanism“ at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Previously, he was a member of the “Functions of Consciousness” group at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of the Sciences and Humanities, an „Art and Neuroscience Fellow“ at Columbia University, and Deputy Professor for Philosophy of Mind at LMU Munich.

Prof. Elisabeth Broermann studied architecture at KIT and RWTH Aachen. Her professional focus is on sustainable construction, conversion and renovation. She is currently working on the A4F guest professorship at the TU Berlin as part of a team. Elisabeth Broermann worked for Grünhelme e.V. in Mauritania and is a trained mediator for planning processes.At Architects for Future, she was significantly involved in the successful Bundestag petition Bauwende.JETZT, coordinates the movement's public and political work and is active as a spokesperson. For A4F she was part of the think tank “Bauakademie” and serves on advisory-boards and juries. https://www.architects4future.de
